Thanks for all the local business owners and residents who joined us at our first-ever Tree Pit Gardening workshop! It was a success!
Our example pit tree pit, planted by professional horticulturalist Charles Day, Master Gardener and landscape pro Tony Bardes, and garden pro & educator Kory Riesterer, will be on view this season in the empty tree pit in front of Village Hall, 85 Main Street.
For those who missed attending, stay tuned for future workshops! You can also download the workshop materials (a seasonal "how to" as well as a recommended planting list) by clicking the button below.
Special thanks to the Cold Spring Area Chamber of Commerce for partnering with us on this project, to the NYS DEC Urban and Community Forestry Division for their support, and to the Cold Spring Fire Company for use of their meeting room.

PAST WORKSHOPS:
MAY 10 2019 9:30-11:00 AM The Village of Cold Spring Tree Advisory Board and the Cold Spring Area Chamber of Commerce invite residents and shopkeepers to come to this fun, free workshop to learn about how you can garden the tree pits and parking strips on Main Street and beyond. A professional horticulturist and a Master Gardener will discuss the most sustainable, decorative, low-maintenance plants best for sidewalk patches, and how to care for your streetside garden.
The workshop will begin at the meeting room in the CS firehouse. It will include an illustrated presentation and then a short walking tour of select tree pits, and will culminate in a gardening demonstration in front of Village Hall, 85 Main St.
