Three new large Nyssa sylvatica ( black tupelo) were planted in April 2018 on the Cold Spring Waterfront to replace the mature willows lost in our fall windstorm storm.
Special thanks to Gunner Petersen of Petersen’s in Patterson NY for the beautiful larger-than-life tree stock and Ian Kingsley for work on the single remaining willow tree. And thanks to Bruce Campbell for spearheading the replacement and the Recreation Commission and Tree Advisory Board for teaming up to get these trees replaced! We look forward to their gorgeous fall color this season!
Please look through the rest of the Tree Advisory Board’s pages on this site to learn more about tree management plans in the village.
